Virgin coconut oil poured into palm for facial massage

What makes this virgin coconut oil different

Most coconut oil on a Malaysian supermarket shelf is RBD: refined, bleached and deodorised, pressed from dried copra and processed with heat. It is cheap and it has no coconut smell left.

Virgin coconut oil is pressed from fresh coconut flesh without heat. Nothing is bleached out and nothing is deodorised, which is why this bottle still smells like a coconut. It is also why it costs more per ml.

Cold pressed is the method. Virgin is the result.

Ingredients Benefit

Skin. Coconut oil forms an occlusive layer that slows water loss from the skin surface, which is why it suits dry and flaking skin. Apply to damp skin after a shower so the oil traps water that is already there.

Hair and scalp. Coconut oil's lauric acid has a low molecular weight and a straight chain, so it penetrates the hair shaft rather than sitting on it. That is the mechanism behind the pre-wash oil treatment used across South and Southeast Asia for generations.

Massage. A carrier oil with no fragrance and no essential oils added, so it works on its own or as a base you mix your own essential oils into.

Newborns and babies. Safe for all ages including newborns. Patch test first, as with any oil.
